GSO Online Registration Terms and Conditions

Welcome to "TECOM Online Services."

Whilst availing the TECOM Online Services, it is important that you are fully aware of our respective legal rights and obligations. For that reason we have enforced these legally binding Terms and Conditions with respect to the provision of Online Services (the "Service") to you.

In this Agreement the words "you" and "yours" means the client that applied for the Service and the terms "us" and "we" means TECOM.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully and confirm your acceptance by clicking the 'I agree' icon and proceed further.

If you do not agree with any of the Terms and Conditions of the TECOM Online Services, you may click the 'I disagree' icon and you will automatically be re-directed to the home page.

Please note that these Terms and Conditions may be revised and reissued without notice at any time by updating this posting. You should visit this page regularly to review the current Terms and Conditions, since your continued use of the Site will be deemed as irrevocable acceptance of any revisions. These Terms and Conditions were last updated on 01st January 2008.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Definition

In the agreement, the following words and expressions shall have, wherever mentioned herein, the meaning shown against each of them:

"TECOM" / "We" : Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone

"TECOM Online Services": Online Services provided by TECOM.

"Client" / "You" / "Yours": A Business Partner holding a valid trade license issued by the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority, requesting online services available on "TECOM Online".

"ID":

"Password": A secret Word composed of Alpha numeric value issued by TECOM which allows the client to access the services provided through "TECOM Online".

"Service Transactions": Any online service debit, credit or Advance Payment provided by TECOM through "TECOM Online".

Registration

The client shall register for "TECOM Online" by completing the application form and by accepting the terms and conditions.

"TECOM Online" services shall be immediately available to the client who completes the requirements of TECOM.

"TECOM Online" is provided only to clients who apply for the services and meet the TECOM's requirement for this service.

For obtaining "TECOM Online" services the applicant must hold a valid Trade License issued by the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority.

In case of closure of the Online Account for any reasons or for violating the terms and conditions regulating "TECOM Online" service, TECOM shall terminate or cancel the service without being liable in anyway due to such termination or cancellation.

Security

You shall keep your ID and password strictly confidential and not disclose it to any person.

We will not contact you via email or phone requesting for your Online Password. If you are contacted by anyone requesting this information, you shall contact us immediately. You agree to take adequate measures to guard against unauthorized access to the Online Password. If you believe that the Password has been lost or stolen or that someone may attempt to use the Service without your consent, you must notify us immediately by calling the TECOM Online Administrator.

We may suspend or cancel your password even without receiving such notice from you, if we suspect your password is being used in an unauthorized or fraudulent manner.

You agree that TECOM shall not be liable for losses or damage which may arise from unauthorized transactions.

Upon request, TECOM may issue a new password to you at a nominal fee.

General Provisions

All transactions accepted and implemented by TECOM upon the client's instruction shall be at the client's own cost and risk and the client is bound by such instructions.

TECOM may without referring to the client deduct from the client's account any expenses, fees payable against the services rendered to the client provided via "TECOM Online Services", pursuant to the regulations as approved by TECOM.

TECOM shall not be liable before the client if the amount captured or credited from or to the clients account is reduced because of fees or depreciated value nor shall TECOM be held liable if the client is unable to receive the services as a result of any restrictions or regulations issued by the statutory authorities.

The client can have a print-out of the statement of account through online instruction. In the event of any objection, the client should notify TECOM in writing within 15 days from the date of the statement of account print-out; if the client fails to notify TECOM, the statement of account shall be deemed correct.

TECOM shall not be liable for any damage, error or loss that may occur as a result of the client using TECOM Online services.

The client alone shall be responsible for the correctness of the information and data that are entered and any changes or amendments that may take place to such information and data from time to time; and the settlement of any dispute with the concerned utility institution.

TECOM may refuse to execute any requests, instructions or services requested by the client, if the client fails to comply with the necessary procedures as provided hereunder; or if the information or data are incorrect or are in violation of the law applicable in the United Arab Emirates.

TECOM shall not bear any responsibility resulting in case of the non-execution of any transaction or service requested by the client if the fault or reason is beyond the control of the TECOM, its subsidies.

TECOM shall reserve the right to change and modify these terms and conditions or the services offers as required by the law or TECOM policy. Such changes shall be notified to the client through the online notification.

The client accepts that TECOM's record of financial transactions shall be conclusive evidence of such transactions and legally binding on the client for all the purposes. Unless and until the client notifies TECOM in writing otherwise, the address stated in the registration form shall be considered as the approved address for delivering original documents, notices, statement of account, notification or any document by mail or through courier to the client.

This system is for the use of authorized users only. Individuals using this computer system without authority, or in excess of their authority, are subject to having all of their activities on this system monitored and recorded by system personnel.

Anyone using this system expressly consents to such monitoring and is advised that if such monitoring reveals possible evidence of criminal activity, system personnel may provide the evidence of such monitoring to the law enforcement officials.

Online Services Privacy Policy

TECOM has a strict policy of keeping customer information secret and secure. TECOM assures its clients that:

1. Personal or Business information provided shall be safeguarded using the highest standards of security and confidentiality.

Only authorized employees shall have access to the information and those employees who violate the TECOM's privacy policies shall be dealt with the normal disciplinary process.
2. The use of client personal information shall be kept to a minimum for promoting the TECOM's services.

3. Information provided shall not be shared and / or revealed to any external agency / organization without prior authorization from the client or as required by the law.

4. Sharing of information shall be done only with reputable reference sources for the purpose of verification and risk management.

5. All attempts shall be made to keep personal data updated and accurate at all times.

Online Services Security

'TECOM Online' Services users are advised to:

  1. Protect their personal information and passwords at all times by:
    1. Not using passwords that are easy to guess e.g. own name, own date of birth, own telephone number, etc.
    2. Using a combination of Upper and Lower case alphabets and numbers.
    3. Not sharing the password with any other person
    4. Not using the same password for any other website, application, etc.
    5. Not writing down password
    6. Changing password frequently
    7. Avoiding logging into TECOM Online Services from public sites such as Internet Café, Libraries, etc.
    8. Closing the window of operation after logging out of TECOM Online session.
  2. Protect their computer and internet session by:
    1. Not sharing computers
    2. Using a sign-on password on the PC to prevent unauthorized access
    3. Refraining from opening emails sent by unknown entities
    4. Not replying to emails requesting personal information
    5. Using personal firewalls and anti-virus software
    6. Avoiding download of software such as screen savers, games, etc.
    7. Never leaving TECOM Online Services session running unattended at any time
    8. Not using any other internet browser when accessing TECOM Online Services
